Thoughts On Obomba's Syrian Fiasco

The President and his lackeys are on the “offensive”, doing their best to use an unethical, probably illegal and certainly asinine military action against Syria and Assad’s alleged use of chemical weapons to save his sorry assed legacy, or is it his credibility? Whatever the case one has to wonder how much of this is nothing more than a ruse to keep attention away from the upcoming budget battles, the implementation of the Socialist Obamacare, the regression of race relations by an administration that apparently tends to wallow in racial hatred and of course the complete collapse of respect for the U.S. by the world, something this administration seems hell bent to accomplish.

After all, this is an administration that has openly lied about the Fast and Furious gun running, the Benghazi murders and so forth (and let’s not forget the lies like the job growth lie! 300,000 people left the work force so are not counted anymore and only 166,000 jobs supposedly created. My math says net job loss of 136,000). Forget credibility as we all know there isn’t any of that in this administration. This President is willing to start a war for his radical Muslim buddies and in turn throw Israel and God knows who else under the bus and put them even further in harm’s way. The world has no respect for us now and the Muslim Brotherhoods and so forth this President so clearly wants in power senses not only our weakness, but in fact smells the blood in the water. And who are these wonderful rebels this clown supports? How about this little item to explain?

“Al-Qaeda linked terrorists in Syria have beheaded all 24 Syrian passengers traveling from Tartus to Ras al-Ain in northeast of Syria, among them a mother and a 40-day old infant.
Gunmen from the terrorist Islamic State of Iraq and Levant stopped the bus on the road in Talkalakh and killed everyone before setting the bus on fire.

According to media reports, the attack was carried out because the passengers who were from three different villages in Ras al-Ain, supported anti-terrorist Kurdish groups which were formed recently to defend Kurdish population against anti-Syria terrorists.
Bodies of the mother and her 40-day old infant were also seen among the dead, which were recognized by their relatives.

Syrian Kurdish leader Saleh Muslim warned on Friday that the Kurd minority is facing an ethnic cleansing by al-Qaeda terrorists.”

The above was followed up by Rueters:
ISTANBUL | Sun Sep 1, 2013 3:51pm EDT
(Reuters) - Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has moved military equipment and personnel to civilian areas and put prisoners in military sites as human shields against any Western air strikes, the opposition said on Sunday.
The Istanbul-based opposition coalition said rockets, Scud missiles and launchers as well as soldiers had been moved to locations including schools, university dormitories and government buildings inside cities.
"Reports from inside Syria confirm that Assad has (also)ordered detainees to be moved to military targets and to be used as human shields against possible Western air strikes," the opposition coalition said in a statement.

As I have said many times, there are people who can articulate much better than I can as to this horse’s ass we call a President, so here we go, starting with one of my favorites, Judge Jeannine!

We all know the President in a speech drew a red line as to Syria a year ago. We have video proof, yet according to him and his lackeys, what we saw and heard we in fact did not see and hear! The other day, after dithering around and claiming he can do what the hell he wants but will ask Congress first (and anyone who thinks for one moment this is not anything else but an action to take the responsibility from his sorry ass actions and shuck it off on everyone else so the blame doesn’t tarnish his legacy is off in Never Never Land) he then after being asked a question delivered one of the biggest lines of bullshit I have ever seen from any politician in my life as below (Note: My snide comments in parentheses):

PRESIDENT OBAMA:” Let me unpack the question. First of all, I didn’t set a red line.(August 12th video of me saying that? Must be doctored. After all, everyone else lies to their teeth, not me!) The world set a red line. The world set a red line when governments representing 98 percent of the world’s population said the use of chemical weapons are abhorrent and passed a treaty forbidding their use even when countries are engaged in war. Congress(You know, thise assholes who refuse to back my Muslim loving hard core Socialist agenda. Don’t blame me!) set a red line when it ratified that treaty. Congress set a red line when it indicated that in a piece of legislation titled the Syria Accountability Act that some of the horrendous thing that are happening on the ground there need to be answered for. And so, when I said, in a press conference, that my calculus about what’s happening in Syria would be altered by the use of chemical weapons, which the overwhelming consensus of humanity says is wrong, that wasn’t something I just kind of made up. I didn’t pluck it out of thin air. There was a reason for it (yeah, to put the blame squarely where it belongs, anywhere else but on my table). That’s point number one. Point number two, my credibility (After all, you’ve all fallen for the lies and bullshit for the last five years. Why stop now?) is not on the line. The international community’s credibility is on the line. And America and Congress’ credibility (don’t you see? The blame as usual has to go to those who were here before me!) is on the line because we give lip service to the notion that these international norms are important.”

Putin for all practical purposes spit in whiney Obama’s face. The Brits jumped ship. The radicals are threatening attacks on all fronts. So called experts while railing for the need to attack Syria also acknowledge the radicals “will in fact carry out hostile actions because they do not give one damn about what the U.S. thinks or does. The hatred is real and the danger is obvious. And of course, the economical ramifications of such actions (and I’m not even addressing the cost of the hardware, etc. What about the huge spike in oil that is coming?) are being steadfastly ignored.

Once Obomba (I love that designation for the Nobel Peace Prize winner, you know the one that hadn’t done a damn thing to earn it?) decided to “possibly defer to Congress”, the shit really started to hit the fan. Within in a day or so, I came across the following, something even an ignoramus such as Obomba should have been able to figure out if he had paid any attention at all to anything other than his golf and legacy. To paraphrase from Casablanca, Shocking! You’re moving your weapons and military assets to civilian areas!Note below:

“The main Western-backed opposition group, the Syrian National Coalition, said the army moved troops as well as rocket launchers, artillery and other heavy weapons inside residential neighborhoods in cities nationwide. The coalition said Assad ordered detainees to be moved to military targets for use as human shields against U.S. strikes.

Three Damascus residents, speaking on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals, confirmed such movements.

One man said two members of the elite Republican Guards broke into an empty house he owns, showing him an official paper stating they were authorized to do so because Syria is at war. He said he bribed the soldiers and they left. A woman in another area said soldiers moved into a school next to her house and she was terrified”

I include below comments from Charles Krauthammer and John Bolton to which I see no need to comment any further other than to fully agree:

Appearing on Fox News  after Barack Obama’s Syria speech, last Saturday, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer accused the president of leaving the region hanging, and making it look like he was “chickening out.”

“This is amateur hour,” Krauthammer said, and if you were sitting in Syria, Iraq, or Moscow watching this speech, then it looked like Obama was looking for a way out of striking Syria after he had boxed himself in.
After listing the arguments in favor of going war, he noted, “the only thing that matters at this point, is the word of the United States. That overrides everything.”

“Even though I think a limited attack is not the right thing to do, at this point he has to do something, or we will have reached the lowest ebb of American influence in the region since 1970,” he said.

As for Obama’s murky timetable for action, Krauthammer said:
“They hear a president who has no idea what he is doing and speaks about this in a leisurely way. What he ought to do, (and I can’t believe he actually decided otherwise!) is bring back Congress tomorrow. We’ve got Reagan Airport, we’ve got National Airport, we’ve got Dulles….you bring in the members of congress, you have a debate for two days, and you have a resolution. You can’t leave the region hanging…It looks absolutely as if the president has chickened out. And that’s the work of the president because of the way he did this.

More from Charles:

“[T]he most astonishing thing is the lack of any urgency,” Krauthammer said. “As you say, Congress will be back in a week. He says, ‘I can strike in a day or a week or a month,’ as if he is a judge handing down a sentence and the execution can be any time in the future. There is a war going on. Do you think everybody is going to hold their breath, hold their arms, step aside until Obama decides when he wants to go to Congress?

“Look, I think he should go to Congress,” he continued. “I think it is absolutely necessary. But he has done no preparation. What they should have done — I mean, this is sort of amateur hour. When there were the first attacks six months ago or if you like, when we had the current attacks, he should have immediately have called in the Congress the way the prime minister of Britain had called in the parliament, had a debate and got a resolution and then went out and told the world we are going do x or we are not going to do x.”

Ambassador John Bolton :

“This is absolutely stunning,” Bolton said. “I’ve been trying to fill in the blank of the following sentence: ‘Barack Obama is the weakest president since…’ And I have to say, the best I can come up with is James Buchanan who watched the country dissolve into the Civil War. We’re watching the collapse of American influence in the Middle East and really more broadly. And I say that as somebody who has been opposed to use of force in Syria. I have to ask if your secretary of state, John Kerry, given the two very strong statements that he has made on this subject since the first indication of the chemical weapons used 10 days ago took place: Are you now thinking of resigning as a matter of principle, having laid out the case, whether you agree or disagree with Kerry, that the United States has to use force here, to see the president take this step.”

“I’ll leave it to others to say whether Congress can approve it, but you know he needs 60 votes in the Senate to authorize force, and it’s very hard to see that he’s going to get it,” Bolton continued. “And having said, ‘I’ve made up my mind to use force, but now I’ll ask Congress’ — a failure to get it here tells the Ayatollahs in Teheran it is smooth sailing toward nuclear weapons unless Israel strikes.”

“I favor a strong president and a strong foreign policy and strong America in the world,” Bolton said. “It was a very foolish thing to make the statement about the red line last August. He did it in the heat of a presidential campaign but the fact is as the economist say in the sunk cost fallacy, just because you do one very foolish thing, as you look ahead on your policy, you don’t make things better by doing a second foolish thing. We’re going to take a hit for his statement last August but we don’t need to compound it. He’s now compounded it twice over. He’s saying again today that the military strike will be very limited but he’s going further by saying he’s not sure he’s going to do it unless he gets authority. I think this is a mistake twice compounded now.”

A new (for me) blog I now follow is Liberty’s Torch and I found the fascinating analysis below:

Donald Sensing continues:
In his statement, the president also said this: "Yet while I believe I have the authority to carry out this military action without specific Congressional authorization, I know that the country will be stronger if we take this course and our actions will be even more effective."

Let's parse that.
1. He means that he thinks he has authority as president to bomb Syria without going to Congress at all.
Well, in that case he may be right, in the sense that any president has the power to do what Congress doesn't oppose. Obama illegally sent US bombers against Libya in 2011 without Congressional authority; by any stretch, the president was both declaring and making war, the former power reserved to the Congress alone.
But history, and not just of this administration, shows that Congress will usually be pretty passive about that kind of thing. The White House does not have that power so much by delegation as by concession.
However, there is another twist to what Obama might have meant that would require him to believe this, which is,

2. He means that even if Congress votes against authorizing the Syria war, he can still order the strikes because he didn't have to ask Congress in the first place.

If Congress votes to withhold authority for the strikes and Obama orders them anyway, then beyond question we will have reached one of the most serious Constitutional crises of our history. Unless unmistakably halted by Congress, we will have surrendered the last vestige of representative, Constitutional government. It is not obvious, however, that this what the president meant. Let us hope not.
Hope, in the age of the Usurper, has become a feeble reed.

The Regime has systematically replaced our top commanders with political puppets: uniformed politicians loyal to Obama rather than to the Constitution or their military oaths. There is little reason to think they'll refuse Obama's unconstitutional order to act. What that would mean for the United States is devastating.
The great fear, of which few of us have dared to speak, is that the sequel will see our armed forces used domestically, in violation of the Posse Comitatus Act, to suppress "insurrection," meaning any unacceptably vocal condemnation of the Regime or dissent from its policies."

Finally, my disdain for this President, his administration, his allies in Congress and the hapless MSM as well as the “sheeples” who blindly support a man who I feel is a traitor to everything I have been brought up to believe in is I’m sure not a secret. LOL!  I mentioned in opening the “wallowing in racism” as well as the blind political “oh, we must support this clown no matter what for the party or whatever bullshit!  As such, one can only imagine the disgust I felt as the usual subjects started talking about “supporting President Bozo so as not to embarrass him or lessen his stature”.

Moron Alert! Who gives a damn about his legacy, be it as a black President or his asinine agenda or whatever insane reason anyone can use to justify backing a man who is proving again and again to be the most inept, polarizing, anti-American ideal President of not only my lifetime but in history. This idiot is destroying everything this country not only stands for, but is in fact laboring to deliver us into the third world Socialist /Muslim mediocrity that has become cancer that is destroying everything! And we get crap like below?!

From Newsbusters:

COLBY KING, WASHINGTON POST: A defeat of this magnitude would diminish his presidency - not just the legislative agenda he has, but his presidency domestically and internationally. Here’s a president who can’t deliver on something as fundamental as this issue. There’s no fallback position. I mean, his administration has got to see this as the most urgent, most urgent task in front of them.
Ed Asner:
"A lot of people don't want to feel anti-black by being opposed to Obama," he said.

From Newsbusters:

HOLMES NORTON: No, oh boy, no. I think it’ll be like the red line trap. He said if the red line you cross it. I think once you say, "I’m going to Congress," you can’t say, “Okay, I’m going to do it anyway.”
PRESS: Yeah, yeah, I don’t…
HOLMES NORTON: So I think he’ll be in real trouble if he then does it anyway. No president has done that.
PRESS: It’s not an easy decision for any of you, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton.
HOLMES NORTON: Oh, and I’d like to say, Bill, that if he gets saved at all, I think it’ll be because, it’ll be because of loyalty of Democrats. They just don’t want to see him shamed and humiliated on the national stage.
PRESS: Yeah, right.
HOLMES NORTON: At the, at the moment, that’s the only reason I would vote for it if I could vote on it.

Wake up folks! We have no credibility in the world anymore. Obomba says he can attack any way, after all he now has “my military” in his pocket if one listens to his idiocy. Israel will suffer repercussions and there will be attacks on Western establishments by the very people we are supposedly aiding in Syria. In turn, attention is being turned away from the disaster that is this administration’s asinine policies (and I feel that is on purpose. Wag the Dog as Clinton did). As there really is not an economic recovery as the bullshitters claim, the spike in oil prices combined with the possible collapse of the dollar (I’m not an economist, but it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to know the world is looking to go to a different reserve currency than the dollar and what better excuse than this), combined with the cost of another war that will possibly engulf an already screwed up Mideast, it is easy to say that the warnings of what can happen are real! As the administration lies and ducks and weaves, the rest of the world is openly mocking us. I’m afraid the Syria situation has brought it to a point to where the radicals now feel empowered to do what the hell they want and I’m sure we are on the brink of a firestorm the likes of which we really don’t want to see. Unfortunately, the people “We the People” elected (And this is pointed at the sorry assed Republicans as well!) do not have the balls to stand up and be counted as to what is good for the United States!
